The latest Loan Performance Insights Report from CoreLogic found that mortgage delinquency and foreclosure rates in the U.S. remained near record lows in July 2023. Early-stage delinquencies and adverse delinquencies remained unchanged from July 2022, and serious delinquencies dropped from 1.3% to 1%. Despite some slight upticks in delinquencies in 16 metro areas, most borrowers have substantial amounts of home equity and are unlikely to experience foreclosures. CoreLogic projects that home price growth will pick up in the next year, allowing borrowers to build equity at a more moderate rate.
